Comrade Hackathon Held in Kazan IT Park

The friendly “hackathon” that took place last Saturday in the Kazan IT Park gathered several dozen initiative and interested programmers at the technopark press center. The participants were faced with the task of writing code within 24 hours and creating a presentable project for the public from the original idea.

It all started with an idea. Hackathon participants were invited to express their ideas for creating a program that was useful or simply interesting for the general public. As it turned out, the audience had accumulated a lot of ideas that they sought to bring to life. The press center was attended by those who have long been working on their own projects, and those who have only certain achievements. For example, a project called “Give a Colleague a Worker,” offers users to install the application and help colleagues get to their home or office. Was presented at the "hackathon" and the project, offering the creation of interactive children's books for the iPad. Enough in the hall and ideas that were born from those who came in just a few minutes. Enthusiasts suggested creating an application that could simplify the management of their own feed of interesting events, to develop a program that would make universal any control panel and much more. After the projects were selected, a team gathered for each of them and the work began to boil.

It was a busy 24 hours filled with events, new acquaintances, successes and failures. The programmers gathered in the IT park exchanged experiences, argued, joked, ate pizza and, of course, wrote the code. During the night of intensive work, I managed to bring to mind about six projects, which were presented on Sunday morning. Of course, one cannot say that the participants of the “hackathon” turned out to be ready for immediate launch of the application, but the guys showed their talent and professionalism. The participants discussed each project, expressed their views, suggested ways of its development in the future. Moreover, the event has become the platform on which the formation of the Kazan IT community continues. Communities of young and talented programmers willing to work on the most complex and ambitious projects and promote the high-tech industry. The “hackathon” day turned out to be productive, and each of the participants left the Kazan IT Park with something new - with a new friend, experience, idea. As world experience shows, programming marathons can last more than one day, and can last up to a week. In the future, Kazan programmers expect new interesting tasks within the framework of IT park hackathons.
