NASA "Asteroid" mission: detailed video from the agency

Over the past few years, NASA has been paying close attention to asteroids, their study and popularization of the idea of working with asteroids. However, not many people realize what kind of mission it will be, and how it might look like. In order to help imagine all this, NASA has released a detailed video simulating the future missions of Bruce Willis astronauts to these space objects. The video, by the way, although it does not contain shots of exploding helicopters / planets, is nevertheless done very professionally.

In this case, it does not mean the idea of mining minerals on asteroids, but the idea of removing potential destroyers of life on Earth from the dangerous orbit. So far, scientists have not discovered very dangerous asteroids for the Earth, but this does not mean that they are not. And in the event of an “asteroid threat”, it will be planned to send both human astronauts and robots, with the aim of taking the asteroid into a safe orbit.

Earlier this year, the agency presented the technical aspects of such a mission, but now it is all visualized, and in great detail. The video contains all the stages, from the launch of the Orion spacecraft, to the first steps of the astronauts on the asteroid.
