RUSNANO has new sources of income and a new strategy

    Last year, Rusnano's net profit under IFRS reached 8.2 billion rubles. Although at the end of 2013, a loss of 39.9 billion was recorded, RBC reports . As the head of Rusnano, Anatoly Chubais, explains, these indicators were achieved thanks to exchange income (16.57 billion rubles) and the presence of a large number of foreign assets.

    The value of the corporation's investment portfolio in 2014 increased by 36% and exceeded 112 billion rubles. The price of the group’s assets increased by 10% and reached 192 billion rubles.

    The indicator of increase in sales of nanoproducts of portfolio companies grew by 100% and reached 227 billion rubles. According to the Rosnano report for 2014, the group doubled its investments in the development of portfolio companies.

    The next step in the development of the corporation itself is howAccording to Interfax, there should have been the creation of the Trans Pacific Technology Fund (TPTF) investment fund, which was planned in the amount of up to $ 400 million. This is part of the company's new strategy for 2014-2020.

    “Unfortunately, it was not possible (to create a fund) for political reasons,” Anatoly Chubais explains.

    Back in October last year, a memorandum was signed on the creation of a fund jointly with Industrial Technology Investment Corporation (ITIC, Taiwan) and 360ip investment company (Singapore). The size of the investment fund at the first stage was to be $ 200 million, of which Rusnano was going to invest 50%, and the rest was Asian investors. They expected that the new fund could begin work in 2015, but this did not happen.

    In accordance with the new strategy, the task of Rusnano for 2014-2020 is to create investment funds of the following types: growth stage funds, venture capital funds under the direct management of RUSNANO Management Company and funds under self-government. During this period, the company plans to invest about 63 billion rubles in new funds and attract third-party investments worth 150 billion rubles.
