Meet Intel Integrated Performance Primitives 8.0

Many software developers are well aware of the Intel Integrated Performance Primitives (Intel IPP) library - a set of functions for optimized data processing and multimedia. Actively using the features of the microarchitecture of processors, in particular, vectorization capabilities, Intel IPP functions significantly increase the speed of the application; in addition, directly developing applications is accelerated, because the programmer has ready-made “bricks” at hand and there is no need to reinvent the wheel. Intel IPP implements hundreds of widely used functions for image conversion, statistics, computer vision and a dozen more areas, all of them are optimized, debugged and not burdened with royalties.
And now the functionality of the product has expanded even more - a new version of Intel IPP 8.0 has been released.

Intel Integrated Performance Primitives 8 is significantly different from version 7 - no less than Windows 8 from Windows 7, but hopefully for the better.
    • IPP now supports Windows 8 new UI (formerly known as “METRO”) through static single-threaded libraries.
    • Added OSX * support to the IPP package (previously only available as part of OSX * Composer)
    • Optimization for the new Haswell microarchitecture has been added to many functions.
    • Additional optimization of image processing functions using SSSE3 and higher.
    • The main distribution includes examples of the use of IPP, previously supplied separately. New examples added.
    • Extended documentation for use with Android.
    • And finally, IPP becomes heterogeneous, that is, it gets the ability to run on Intel Graphics! In the Preview mode , the corresponding version of IPP is available , and in two versions: as an asynchronous C / C ++ library and as a library based on OpenCL.

Intel IPP 8.0 is distributed as a “lightweight” distribution. Supported operating systems are Windows (XP, 7/8, server), Linux (Redhat / CentOS 5/6, Fedora 18/19, SLES 10/11, Ubuntu 12.04 LTS / 13.04, Debian 6/7), MacOS X (10.8. 2 / 10.9). The cost of the commercial version is $ 199 (academic $ 99).
