Acer introduced new hybrid devices on Windows and a cheap Android tablet

Acer introduced the Aspire R7 laptop (on the right) with Windows on board and a unique hybrid design: the screen is attached to the keyboard with a special hinge that allows the user to position the display closer to touch, writes Mashable. The company also introduced a small hybrid ultrabook and a separate Android tablet, noteworthy at a price of $ 169.

The hinge in the R7 is called Ezel and in addition to allowing users to position the 15.6-inch screen closer, it can also flip into “presentation” mode for someone sitting opposite you. If you want to use the laptop as a tablet, you can fold the screen completely by placing it above the keyboard.

Skeptics call Acer Aspire R7 product advertising designed solely to attract attention. So, TechCrunch writes : “Acer proves this to other equally large players and startups that it still can. This laptop is designed to hang nicely in the window and encourage customers to go inside the store. In automotive terms, this is Acer's Chevy Corvette. ”

The R7 laptop will go on sale May 17 and will cost $ 999 with an Intel Core i5 processor. As for the other device, the P3 Ultrabook, it is a hybrid based on Intel Core, which can be separated from the keyboard and made into a tablet. It has an 11.6-inch screen with a resolution of 1366 x 768, and it will cost $ 799 with a Core i3 and $ 899 with an i5.

A separate tablet - Iconia A1 - has a 7.9-inch screen with a 4: 3 aspect ratio and a resolution of 1024 x 768 and runs on Android 4.1 Jelly Bean. Due to its price ($ 169), some publications are already writing about the tablet price race that has begun. So, from the new Nexus 7 tablet from Google, they expect prices of $ 149.
