Type yourself a robot: the Frenchman makes an open source android

Gael Langevin invites everyone to print a robot. The French artist publishes 3D printing files for assembling a humanoid robot, which will allow each of us to assemble our own assistant from a certain amount of plastic, several Arduino boards and the required number of electric motors.

Hand drawings have already been posted on Thingiverse and Langevin promises to publish the rest of the pieces over the coming months. His design diary is here . The robot is fully open source and all plans will be available for download. For printing, you will need a home 3D printer, although it is believed that an industrial printer is already needed for the largest parts.
