A bit about Microsoft TechEd 2012
In this article, I would like to share my impressions of the Microsoft TechEd technology conference held on November 27-28. I want to say right away that the reports on Lync, Exchange, Dynamics, and InfoSec were not considered in this article.
The plenary presentation was opened by Nikolai Pryanishnikova, president of Microsoft Rus, who in his report focused on the arrival of a new era of cloud technologies and cloud services, in turn, Steve Ballmer’s speech was also dedicated to the arrival of this new golden era of cloud solutions for companies, developers and customers. Then there was a speech by Kirill Tatarinov - President of Business Solutions, he especially noted the universal interfaces, which in the same way allow you to control various devices on Microsoft platforms that do not require additional training. Another new trend is SQL Azure "big data", data that is processed in the cloud, and of course, "Cloud Compute", "Big Compute". A unified authentication system was also highlighted, which allows you to manage subscriptions, CRM-online and Office 365. The Winter Olympic Games, which will be held in Sochi, will also be based on all of the company's main products. Then Cyril continued his talk about Microsoft Dynamics. After demonstrating Dynamics CRM, Scott Guthrie, Microsoft Azure's corporate vice president, appeared on the scene, emphasizing the key advantage of Windows 8, which is integrated with the cloud. The demonstration of Windows 8 was conducted by Mikhail Cheronomordikov, the head of the expert group.
A report by Stas Pavlov, an expert on strategic technologies, was dedicated to the features of software development. There was a demonstration of the development of the corporate application “Advance Reports” in Visual Studio 2012. Next, Mikhail Cheronomordikov talked a little about devices on WP8. Next, presentations were made on Office 2013, SharePoint2012 and Office365, Windows 2012. At the end of the plenary, Scott Guthrie gave a detailed demonstration of the Windows Azure cloud platform.

After the plenary report, we go up to the 4th floor, where the exhibition and all the thematic reports of the conference actually take place. At the entrance, visitors are greeted by a charming girl who gives out all kinds of tickets for prize drawings.

I want to note several exhibition stands that I personally liked, these are:

- Windows Azure booth where you could register for free your account in the Azure system and get prizes. There were a lot of people wishing to touch the cloud;

- Visual Studio 2012, where it was actually possible to install VS2012 and activate it;

- DevConf 2013 - a conference stand for developers;
I would like to note that I personally liked it:
Labs, foreign speakers Scott Guthrie and Mark Russinovich, and I would also like to mention Dmitry Robsman's reports on cloud technologies and reports on development in Java and F #.
First day:
INF 306 Virtual machines and networks in Windows Azure - Mark Russinovich

AZR 302 Internal device Windows Azure -Mark Russinovich The
reports of Mark Russinovich made a special impression since Mark in his reports quite clearly showed the internal structure of Window Azure using the example of their experimental cluster. Demonstrated a new portal, as well as all having the ability to create virtual machines in the cloud, including on open source systems. Mark has been involved in the development of Windows OS for a long time and in recent years has been engaged in the cloud technology of Windows Azure, so for him the main task was to show all the insides of this cloud technology.
AZR 203 CT Scott Guthrie - Question and Answer Session - Scott Guthrie
The Q&A session with Scott Guthrie also added a lot. In particular, Scott shared his plans for the creation of data centers in Hong Kong, and also said that the creation of a data center in Russia is in Microsoft's plans and this is not far off.

AZR 207 Round table with Dmitry Robsman - first-hand Windows Azure cloud platform - technologies, services and cloud functionality - Dmitry Robsman , Alexey Bokov
Dmitry Robsman shared information on the development of Windows Azure cloud technology, namely the development of AD Service, which is already available in America and Europe and that will be available soon in Russia in 1-1.5 years. Answering questions from the audience and Alexei Bokov, he spoke a little about CDN. He cited statistics that most of the information stored in blobs is not used for reading and is stored there as a backup. Particular emphasis was placed on the development of media services, namely video transcoding using Azure resources, which significantly reduces the time spent on this process.
Second day: The
second day was spent on visiting reports and laboratory work on developing software for W8 / WP8 in C # / F # as well as some AD and CIO.

INF 323Claims-based authentication in traditional and cloud environments with AD FS
Nikolay Salnikov
On the AD talk, we looked at the new AD FS 2.1, which is part of Windows 2012. We listened a bit about authentication and security.
CIO 206 Personnel Management Issues in an IT Company Using the Example of Microsoft Russia
Vladimir Khimanych
At a CIO report we listened to how Microsoft effectively manages its employees. I really liked the TOP-50 system of the best people and the TOP-50 of key roles, which is aimed at ensuring that the best employee takes a key role in the company.

Dmitry Soshnikov
In laboratory work and reports for developers, we learned a little about development in C # for the W8 / WP8 OS. We tried to code it ourselves and completed 4 tasks in the laboratory work on WP8, the work was devoted to the development of an application such as iCook, Ogolodali. Especially in the laboratory, I liked the touch displays, which allows you to test applications using touch.
At the end of the Microsoft Custom Conference, there were raffles of valuable prizes.
Conclusions:
- We are waiting for AD Azure, MS data centers in Russia;
- We develop highly efficient software using Azure Mobile Service resources, participate in ImagineCup ;
- We develop software using corporate services, which can also be located in the cloud;
- We think about what is better to transfer to the cloud, and what to leave “on-permise”.
