New movie. New article
The video was made a long time ago, but could not immediately show:
Below is our vision for the development of the video design industry as a whole.
Within 2-3 years, the situation with the market of video design will face the same fate as with the market of web development. I use the word "fate" not in a negative way, but as a kind of equal sign. And I mean by it the following:
1. The market will be oversaturated by companies specializing in video design. Dozens, and then hundreds of companies that will appear and die every day. At the same time, 3-5% of the market revenue will be held by 3-5 companies that started earlier than others.
2. Market development (new technologies, a formed community, a large number of training materials) will allow a half-year student to go the path of a seasoned specialist.
3. In any new field, internal processes always occur the same way. Creators come first, then technologists, then the conveyor. Now the time of creators passes. They are being replaced by technologists - people who perform one basic function well. And the final quality of the product does not depend on a single creative unit of a high level, but on a conveyor belt from several secondary specialists.
In a similar situation, people working in this area will find it useful to listen to the following tips:
1. Stop holding on to knowledge - they depreciate faster than you manage to get new ones. What is important is not a set of skills, but the speed of learning new ones for specific tasks. In such a situation, more and more employers will give preference to beginners, who are characterized by the maximum speed of training.
2. Get rid of the arrogance inherent in any creative person. Otherwise, you will be replaced for the first time very soon, and then they will begin to be replaced at all jobs where you will maintain a similar pattern of behavior. Instead, pay attention to the speed of work and find a way to increase it.
3. Define your development goals beyond video design. Strive for directing, art directing, screenwriting, leadership, etc. The salary ceiling in this area will very soon drop from 100-130 thousand rubles to 70-90 for top specialists - and this is clearly not the level to which one should strive all his life. Be prepared to grow further immediately.
There will certainly be exceptions, but for 30,000 - 50,000 specialists there will be only 50 places with a salary above one hundred thousand rubles. Develop, based on the fact that they will get you, is not worth it. To occupy them, you will need, first of all, not professional skills, but communication. It is worth noting that for the industry, 50 places “by pull” are practically the absence of such a phenomenon.
All of the above by me is neither good nor bad. But those who are ready for this will be able to derive the greatest benefit from the current situation.
