Magvaepolia - create a successful studio!
On February 12th, our web studio Magvay had a birthday. For our birthday, we ourselves invented, drew and printed the game of Magvaepolia based on the Monopoly. 3 weeks passed from the idea to the implementation. The game is tested, exciting and unusual. But first things first.
We prepared in advance - we ordered a camp site, made a list of dishes and, of course, figured out how we would have fun. And the most important entertainment in our studio is board games. We started recently, but immediately got involved. The first time we played in a kind of monopoly with a fantasy bias - I liked it so much that we decided to make our board game - “Magvaepoly”.

As you remember, in a monopoly you need to buy / sell real estate (sectors) and take tribute from players who fall into these sectors, you can also build objects on sectors and the cost of sectors increases from this. We did by analogy - only the famous studios instead of real estate. A total of 22 studios. Each had its own value, for which it was possible to buy it. The cost is very different from the real one)

Initially, players start as freelancers - i.e. do not own any of the studios. Also, players at the start of zero portfolio, no employees and 10,000 bucks on the account.
During the game, you can buy studios, build departments in them (only 4 departments - the design department, the programming department, the sales department and the administrative department) and departments.

You can also receive orders - earn money on them, portfolio, hire employees. Orders are large and not very divided into customers and top clients. The second come with a full portfolio and a sufficient number of employees. Everything is as in life.


After the completed order, in addition to the above bonuses, you can get a chance of success - to earn money, get a plus for work or hire more employees. If the order is failed, then you need to pay the cost of the order to the bank and go on vacation - think about why it did not grow together and make plans for the future.
Chance of success - a card that increases your chances of winning, gives good bonuses. The chances are different, big and small - these are embellished life occasions - from selling another studio and giving you his portfolio for free to increase karma on the hub.

But, as in life, failures also happen. Sometimes there is a financial crisis

Problems in business are failures that lie in wait for inexperienced freelancers and novice studio managers. This is when you have so little money, and then, unexpectedly, the labor inspectorate decided to visit your office or your favorite project manager persuaded the designer and programmer to open his own studio. Yes, such worker troubles entail financial losses and personnel losses. After this it’s difficult to recover morally, but the game continues
By the way, some bonuses of chances of success will save from such problems. I remember for sure that the neighbor in the game was not tormented by tax and other checks - he had protection. In life, I would have received a card and live in peace.

But the most important thing in any studio is its employees, people who make all the complex mechanisms of the website creation process work. Employees are different - of different professions and with different salaries - they can be bought at the labor exchange.

And they can come on their own - get a job after a successfully completed order. By the way, their number affects whether you get an order or not - large customers have high requirements.

And having gathered a real studio of 6 different specialists, the player receives a bonus in the form of 10,000 green ones. We made money specifically for the game, our own)

In general, we tried to make an exciting board game that does not diverge from our life as site developers. There is everything that we live here. The game was designed and implemented by the studio management. We all printed on the last day, because the printing house, which on Tuesday received all the sources of the game, still did not start the printing press on Friday. Therefore, I had to agree with friends - a small printing house, where they print no more than the size of A3. But nothing - everyone printed it out, pasted the picture of the field onto cardboard, cut out cards and money and got the game, no worse than the ones that are sold in the store. We finished our epic with a seal at 1-30 nights, congratulated each other on his birthday and went to bed, and at 8-00 we were already going out of town to try out our creation. Thanks to him, 4.5 hours passed in excitement, fun and friendly team. What could be better?)
