The long awaited Google Analytics update: Universal Analytics

At the Mountain View summit in Google View, the Google Analytics Partner Summit announced a beta release of a new data collection protocol called Universal Analytics. This is an extremely important update "under the hood", which will allow:

    • Pass the user ID on the site to Analytics to correctly identify unique users.
    • Configure most of the counter settings (list of search engines, session duration, keywords - exceptions) in the admin panel, and not in the JS code.
    • Transfer data to Analytics from any system using the open tracking API, not only from websites.
    • Add information about conversions that occurred offline to Analytics (sending special events, for example, from CRM).
    • Add new dimensions and parameters to the Analytics interface.
    • Send traffic cost information to the counter to calculate ROI.

While this functionality is in the closed beta stage. You can request access on this page .
