A month ago - September 27, 2012 in Moscow, a press conference of ZTE Corporation was held with the presentation of a series of smartphones ZTE Grand and Dual SIM. And now, as we said in a previous post, some of these new products will appear on the Ukrainian market in mid-November this year. In particular, today we want to announce the ZTE V970 smartphone.
We are proud of this device, combining many advanced and innovative technologies with a stylish design, and in this post we will tell you how we can please Ukrainian users.
ZTE V970
The appearance of the smartphone is emphasized modern: a touch-sensitive monoblock of rectangular shape with smooth corners. The edging is made of polycarbonate, painted in dark silver. It forms a stylish small side on the front panel. Thus, the device receives protection from damage if the smartphone is turned upside down. The screen itself, in addition, is still protected by scratch-resistant glass.
For a screen diagonal of 4.3 inches, the dimensions of the smartphone are small - 127x64.6x9.9 mm, the weight of the device is 130 grams.
The back cover is made of soft-touch plastic in dark gray and covered with small, pleasant to the touch dots. The device lies very well in the hand and does not slip.
On the front panel there are two sensors: lighting and proximity. The first responds quickly and fairly smoothly adjusts the backlight level of the screen. The second responds instantly as soon as you bring the phone to your ear. Next to them is the front camera (0.3 MP) for video calls. A little higher than the camera is the speaker. Its volume is above average and due to the excellent intelligibility of sound and a pleasant low-frequency timbre, the interlocutor can be heard cleanly and quite loudly even on the street. During the conversation there is no echo and no extraneous sounds.
To the left of the speaker is an LED indicator. It blinks red if the battery is almost empty, blinks green when you skip any events, lights red when charging the battery, and if green, it is charged.
Below the screen are touch buttons ("Menu", "Home", "Back", "Search"), applied to the surface with translucent white paint. The backlight is comfortable: during the day the buttons are clearly visible, and at night it does not blind your eyes.
The volume rocker key is located on the left, the microUSB connector is also located there:
The rocker key itself is wide, medium thickness, practically recessed into the case and is groped with fingers:
The standard 3.5 mm audio output to the headphones is located on the upper end, the power button is thin and recessed into the case on / off the device and another microphone for noise reduction (the built-in noise reduction function provides the best sound quality when receiving calls in noisy places. The ZTE V970 smartphone uses a high-quality ASV-LCD-matrix (Advanced Super View), which was developed by Sharp. Unlike IPS-LCD, ASV has great contrast and viewing angles. Sensitivity is above average, fulfills up to 5 simultaneous touches.
The diagonal of the screen is 4.3 inches, the screen resolution is qHD, i.e. 540x960 pixels, which is a worthy indicator for this class of devices. The colors are juicy and crisp. Overall, a great display with moderate brightness.

The device has a removable lithium-ion (Li-Ion) battery with a capacity of 1650 mAh, 3.7 V. In moderate operation mode, the phone lasts for two days, which is exactly what you should expect from this class of devices.
The ZTE V970 smartphone runs on Android 4.0.3. The smartphone has its own graphical shell ZTE - "Mifavor". Its main feature is the simplification of all basic operations. Thanks to the new interface, users will be able to perform all the usual tasks faster. Mifavor has many widgets for the main screen, including a music player, time and weather reports, a calendar, and a task manager. A list of favorite contacts may also be displayed on the screen. In addition, Mifavor offers a more convenient way to create folders than in the "native" Android OS.
We also want to note the originally implemented screen unlock.
It is called "MI Quick Access", to unlock the screen after pressing the power button, you must touch and hold the lock icon. If you click on the lock and slide it with your finger to the side, six “petals” appear with the image of quick access icons for applications. By default, these are “Phone”, “Mute / Unmute”, “Calendar”, “Email”, “Camera” and “Messages”. Instead, if necessary, you can assign any other applications.
