Delphi and C ++ Builder Community Edition

What we all have been waiting for has happened. Embarcadero introduced a new edition of Delphi and C ++ Builder: Delphi Community Edition and C ++ Builder Community Edition. The new edition is intended for individual developers, students, startups and non-profit organizations.

According to its capabilities Community Edition corresponds to the usual Professional - Product Feature Matrix . But there are limitations - you can not install both Delphi and C ++ Builder on the same computer. Either one or the other.

Terms of use (full text in Rad Studio EULA ):

  • You are an individual developer and earn less than $ 5,000 a year by selling software created in Delphi or C ++ Builder.
  • You are a small company (up to five people) that does not make money from selling software or earns less than $ 5,000 a year.

I hope the new edition will give impetus to the development of Delphi. Delphi is still alive.
