Soviet rovers

    Stumbled upon an interesting article about Soviet rovers, the first of which was supposed to crawl around the red planet back in 1971 - but the connection with the marshed module on which the rover was lost was lost shortly after landing.
    In fact, they were impressed by the cool ideas of moving around foreign spaces - especially the “caterpillar principle” with the gradual pulling up of parts of the device.
    Here is a couple of videos - the first part (first half) is more about moon rovers (rover at 3:39), and the second is about another (no less interesting) rover that can climb sandy slopes and pass rocky sections. Enjoy:
