One of our most complex projects is ATP Pravo.ru for WP7

We promised a long time ago, and we did it! Now, owners of mobile devices on the WP7 platform will be able to work with the judicial practice of arbitration courts and courts of general jurisdiction, as well as with documents of federal law!

Today, the SPS Pravo.ru application has become available . You can download it at www.windowsphone.com/en-US/apps/cdbfa6db-4886-495c-bfe7-d0f2bd370c08

We tried to make the most functional and convenient application that would be useful for both the student and the practicing lawyer. Development of the first version of Pravo.ru for Windows Phone 7 was not easy in terms of application requirements and direct implementation in the design and technical parts. But first things first.

Each company has its own processes. Our team has complete creative freedom with personal responsibility for the result. The intention is that the result of your work suit you as a developer by at least 99% and completely suit the chief designer.

It is this approach that is practiced in the development of applications of ATP Pravo.ru. Each participant is sick of what he is doing and is obliged to communicate closely (and sometimes to “have a snack”) with all other sides of the product creation process, which constantly keeps everyone in good shape. So it was this time. There wasn’t such “I’ll draw now, they’ll do it”, or “I’ll write now, and they will redraw”, or “I’ll plan now, let them have time as they like.” Of course, at Parcsis, traditionally, everything comes from design, but here a “compromise” was reached.

Regarding the technical part - the disputes were serious. The application requirements were not so simple. The main difficulty was that Azure with caching on the phone did not quite fit. We need to store a lot and locally.

SQL Litein the port on WP, it did not support Unicode in requests (I did, of course, but I couldn’t build Where with the Cyrillic alphabet) and it didn’t work very well either. They conducted experiments with NOSQL, a subset of the databases available for the platform, in particular with Sterling . The thing is good, powerful, but on large volumes it is slow, and the indices are slow. The main problem of Sterling was that everything in it was stored in a huge number of files in ISO, and file access operations in it were very expensive.

Ultimately settled on Perst . He solved our problem with storage and pleased us with the prospect of selective local full-text indexing of documents.

    Here's what happened:

    Arbitrage practice

Using the application you can work with judicial practice. Open judicial acts of arbitration courts and courts of general jurisdiction immediately from the search result. To do this, indicate the rule of law of interest, and then go to the appropriate category of documents.

    Quick access to documents

Save the necessary documents in “Favorites”, and at any time you can quickly switch to their text from the main screen of the application.

    Work offline

The Constitution, codes, federal laws, as well as selected documents are stored locally and are available for viewing without an Internet connection.

    Convenient document navigation

You can go to the desired article by typing its number. If you do not know the number or if you need all parts with specific text, use the search in the document. You can also bookmark the text of the document to quickly jump to the marked parts.

This is not our first project on WP7, but SPS Pravo.ru turned out to be one of the most difficult, but therefore one of the most interesting, since it revealed the most different nuances of the platform on it. In addition, MS conducted a thorough review so that users of WP7 get a really high-quality and stable application. As we said earlier, we went through the approval process for a long time. For the most part, this was due to the UI, the layout of the various elements, buttons, and display documents. In this regard, we welcome your feedback on the application and its design. Stay tuned for app updates.
