Disclaimer: iPhone design has not been stolen from Sony

Apple's lawyers in a protracted patent dispute were forced to demonstrate another prototype of the iPhone, called the name Purple. Cupertino’s counterargument is designed to refute Samsung’s allegation of copying Sony’s design.

Apple’s official statement says that during the development of the iPhone, Apple’s engineers and designers created many concepts, including the August 2005 Rectangular Rectangular Phone, the screen in the center of the front surface, the Home button in the center of the bottom of the screen, and the speaker hole above the display. This design, dubbed Purple, was developed much earlier than the one that popped up in the 2006 discussion by email to Tony Fadell. The existence of Purple deniesSamsung’s argument that Apple has copied the iPhone design from Sony’s prototype .

The Nishibori prototype with a large speaker, asymmetrical "Soni" buttons, the location of the Home button on the side and other design details specific to Sony appeared only in 2006. However, nothing was used of this game to represent what Sony could have.

Apple wants to exclude copying of Sony’s design among the charges against them, and claim that Samsung is juggling, shifting attention to accusations of an opponent in borrowing. Thus, lawyers want to clarify that the style of the phone with rounded corners, over which there is debate, was already a product of the work of Apple designers, and not a copy of the Sony design: the symmetrical arrangement of the controls was already characteristic of earlier prototypes

. However, Nishibori should be excluded from cases, since he testified in court that he did not know about the future status of his work. According to the documents, the Sina prototype was not the main project at all, but only an attempt based on the design developed by Apple to imagine what the Sony smartphone would look like. Judging by the Nishibori profile on LinkedInHe has been with Apple since July 2002 and has never been with Sony.
