Toshiba introduced the Satellite U845W laptop with an ultra-wide screen - 21: 9, which should ideally fit for viewing blockbusters.

This is an ultrabook, that is, it has an ultra-thin design and an Intel Core processor, in this case third-generation chips (Ivy Bridge). You can choose a bundle with 256 GB SSD or 500 GB HDD in addition to 32 GB SSD for quick boot.

Returning to the screen: this is a 14.4-inch display with a resolution of 1792 x 768. Toshiba chose a 21: 9 screen, obviously for films, since most of the expensive movies are shot in this cinematic format.

However, a wide screen may have other advantages. Horizontal stretching can be convenient for simultaneous work with several programs. A special screen sharing utility from Toshiba divides the screen into several windows in advance, so when you drag the application to one of the specified locations, it will automatically resize to occupy all the space allotted to it.

The laptop has HDMI and Ethernet ports, 3 USB ports and up to 8 GB of RAM. In the lightest configuration, the laptop weighs a little more than one and a half kilograms, and its thickness is about 2 centimeters. The price starts from a thousand dollars. This is certainly a very niche laptop, but it is an interesting approach for Toshiba to dilute the monotony in the laptop market.

Toshiba also introduced two other ultrabooks. The first is the Satellite U845 with a budget design, 500 GB HDD (plus 16 or 32 GB of flash memory) and a 14-inch screen, the price of which starts at $ 750. And the second is Portégé Z935, even thinner (1.6 cm) and lighter (1.1 kg) of the U845W, its battery life is announced up to eight hours. The price for it starts at $ 900.
