Wolfenstein 3D - now also in the browser

Before the cult Quake, and Doom, there was one game that struck the imagination of players of those times. It's about Wolfenstein 3D, a game that appeared in 1992. Probably, many habraly people played this toy, even more - they just heard about it. Of course, there are gamers who have not played or even heard of Wolfenstein 3D. Nevertheless, this is a cult game, and now there is the opportunity to play it directly in the browser.

Bethesda Softworks introduced a browser version of the toy, and made it completely free. The game is supported by all major modern browsers, including Google Chrome 16, Internet Explorer 9, Firefox 11, and Apple Safari 5. For some reason, there is no mention of Opera browser, but probably this browser is also supported.

Bethesda Softworks bought iD Software in 2009, and released a browser version for the 20th anniversary of the toy. Imagine - it's been 20 years already! By the way, this was not the first 3D shooter, before Hovertank and Catacomb 3D appeared. At the same time, this is the first toy that creates the illusion of a fully three-dimensional world (it is built from 2D sprites).

In general, you can play by going to the game’s website using this link. In addition, you can watch a video, a podcast with the participation of the legendary representative of the game world, John Carmack.
