WikiLeaks begins publishing letters of the “shadow CIA”

WikiLeaks has announced the publication of five million letters to the US private intelligence company Stratfor , which is called the "shadow CIA." The company collects and analyzes information about events in the world, on the basis of which economic and geopolitical forecasts are made.

On December 25, 2011, the Stratfor database was already hacked by Anonymous. Soon, some of the data was made publicly available.

New messages from WikiLeaks, covering the period from July 2009 to December 2011, contain information about Stratfor informants, the payout system and psychological methods of its work. The letters also show how the intelligence company takes people to the development of private clients.

Published documents will also highlight the relationship between Stratfor, Dow Chemical Company , Lockheed Martin and government agencies.

The materials also describe how Stratfor CEO George Friedman planned in 2009, along with Goldman Sachs Executive Director Shia Morens, to use the information from the “shadow CIA” for commercial interests. To this end, Morens invested more than $ 4 million in Stratfor and joined the company's board of directors.

One of the letters says that Israeli special forces, with the support of Kurdish separatists, have already carried out an operation to destroy several laboratories serving the Iranian nuclear program. An open attack on Iran, if it happens, will last 48 hours and should end with the fall of the regime. By the way, according to analysts at Stratfor, Russia and Saudi Arabia will benefit most from the war in Iran, as they will receive a huge “gain” from rising gas prices and temporarily dropping Iran from the oil production process.

Part of the letters concerns attempts by the US government to attack WikiLeaks itself and the persecution of its founder Julian Asange.

Upd: As suggested by elky , interesting details of Stratfor's work are found out:

The Russian Reporter magazine published material on WikiLeaks files related to the activities of the US private intelligence company Stratfor. According to this publication, among the Stratfor informants was the Prosecutor General of Russia Yuri Chaika.

The publication’s website contains scattered fragments of emails exchanged between employees and company informants, and provides codes for these documents in the WikiLeaks database. The WikiLeaks website began draining Stratfor files on February 27th.

According to the observations of the Russian Reporter magazine, in the correspondence of the company’s employees, Chaika was listed under the code RU101. The Stratfor Attorney General was informed by the number “1,” meaning he was considered an informant with the highest level of trust. Thus, Seagull was one of the “key sources in Russia” for the American intelligence company, concludes the Russian partner WikiLeaks.

“These publications cannot be called otherwise than bullshit and outright provocation,” Marina Gridneva, the agency’s official, said in a comment to Interfax.

“What kind of unauthorized contacts of the prosecutor general - one of the nine federal civil servants who are under round-the-clock protection in accordance with the Law on Protection, can be discussed,” she asked.

Gridneva did not rule out that forces could stand behind such publications, in relation to which the Prosecutor General’s Office takes a tough stance. “It is not a secret that Yuri Chaika openly stated his point of view regarding a number of non-governmental organizations financed from abroad. These forces are strongly interested in rocking the political situation in the country and are hardly satisfied with the measures taken by the prosecutor’s office to maintain law and order and law in the country, ”the representative of the department said.

The head of Stratfor said that the materials published by WikiLeaks may contain fakes and distorted interpretations, but Stratfor will not give specific explanations for each of these cases.

“Some excerpts from published electronic correspondence may be false or distorted due to inaccuracies. Some may be real, ”says a video message from the founder and CEO of Stratfor, received in RIA Novosti.
