AngryBirds Tournament: how to do it

The event turned out to be extremely fun - the AngryBirds Tournament.
We invited all Kazan schools to the event and as a result about 3000 people came. And the student of KAI won.

    Plans

Now we are in contact with ROVIO and plan to hold such tournaments more often.

    Tournament mechanics

They put 8 plasma screens in the conference room of the IT park and connected iPad2 to each one via an adapter (iPads were taken away , rented from friends.) Participants played on the iPad, and the image was displayed on plasma or video cubes.

At registration, participants received only a ribbon on hand, because there were many who wanted to come and recording everyone would be difficult.
By the way, half of the 3000 participants did not play, just came to see / cheer. A lot of young mothers with children came (the children are absolutely delighted with the Tournament).

    Process

Each judge has anyone who wants to fill out the Participant Card and passed the same level three times. The best result was recorded in the individual competition.
Cards of the participants were collected in an Excel table and by simple sorting we got the 32 best participants who were to play according to the Olympic system. All final games were broadcast on video cubes (diagonal - 5 meters!)
    1. 16 games of the eighth finals (3 attempts, considered the best result, a new level)
    2. 8 games of the fourth quarter finals (3 attempts, considered the best result, a new level)
    3. 4 games of one second final (3 attempts, considered the best result, a new level)
    4. 2 games of the semifinal (3 attempts, considered the best result, a new level)
    5. 1 final game (1 attempt, new level

During the tournament, positive emotions came from every iPad and the tournament turned out to be very cheerful. Everyone who wants to hold such tournaments will be happy to answer questions and help with advice.
