Google patented robotic vehicles

In other words, Google was able to obtain a patent for the technology of autonomous cars that can drive without driver intervention - these cars have been repeatedly described on Habré. Actually, the patent itself relates to a mechanism for changing the operating modes of car traffic. There are two such modes: the first is normal, the second is autonomous when the car takes control. The patented technology is called “Transitioning a Mixed-mode Vehicle to Autonomous Mode”.
According to the developers who created the technology, autonomous cars and the technology itself will be widely used. For example, a car can perform a certain algorithm in the event of an accident or breakdown of a node. In addition, autonomous cars will be able to work as guides, transporting tourists or just visitors from one place to another, simultaneously showing something on the display.
Google believes that an autonomous driving system will allow, for example, to quickly solve any problems during emergencies (the car skidded, or the driver mixed up the gas pedals and brakes). In addition, the system will be able to stop the car on its own in the event of a danger not noticed by the driver. Well, if the parking is necessary, the autonomous system itself will do what is needed, and perhaps better than the driver (in any case, inexperienced).
Previously, Google actively tested its technology, and quite successfully - all the tested cars were able to complete the necessary task. For example, Toyota Prius and Audi TT were able to drive about 250 thousand kilometers with almost no driver.
