At the IROS conference was presented "robot on the ball"

Probably, this robot can become quite famous, because its design is quite original. The Swedish developer Peter Fankhauser (Péter Fankhauser) and named his brainchild - Rezero ballbot. A ball is used as the basis for the movement of the robot, and the device is perfectly balanced, never falling.

The Rezero ballbot project began to be implemented last year, then ETHZ students assembled their devices literally from wire and scrap metal. Now the robot looks more perfect than its first robots, and it is still assembled not from wire. Rezero ballbot is able to move in all directions, and quite quickly. No walking manipulators, no wheels or tracks - just a ball.

Of course, not only Peter, but the whole team is working on the project, but this person is the initiator and ideological inspirer. Yes, in order to prevent the robot from falling, a complex system of gyroscopes is used. Thanks to her, the robot never really crashes. But ride with a very decent speed.
