Rendering Artificial Objects in a Photo
- Transfer
We provide a method for realistically adding artificial objects to existing photographs without requiring access to the scene or other additional dimensions. Using one image and a small number of annotations, our method allows you to create a physical model of the scene, which is suitable for rendering artificial objects on it with scattering, mirror or even luminous surfaces, taking into account the interaction of lighting between objects and the scene.
Images obtained in the study using our method are similar to real scenes even for people who think that they can find the difference. In addition, research shows that our method is competitive with other methods of adding objects to images, but at the same time requires less information about the scene. We also collected new lighting and reflection datasets and the results of rendering with their application are comparable to real images. Our system can be used in the film industry and the computer game industry, to use home decoration and to create new designer items, as well as much more.
