Google acquired Dealmap Daily Aggregator

Despite the fact that now many services offer the tracking service of the best "daily deals", i.e. daily promotional offers, this area is still popular. This is probably why Google acquired the daily deals aggregator called Dealmap. The fact of the transaction was confirmed on Monday, and the terms of the transaction, traditionally, were not disclosed.
In May 2010, the Dealmap service announced the achievement of a number of users of 2 million people. The aggregator shows its users “daily deals” from 450 different sources, ranked by geography. Any registered user who logs in to his account sees transactions in his region. So the Dealmap service can really be called convenient.
Google Corporation became interested in Dealmap, and as a result, the service was purchased. On the Dealmap blog, the usual message in such cases that "we hope for the growth of the service and further development" is already flaunting.
It is worth recalling that in December last year, Google was going to acquire Groupon for $ 6 billion. After the leadership of this service refused, Google created its own service, Google Offers, a competitor to Groupon. Now the "discount" service of the corporation operates in New York, Portland, San Francisco and Auckland, California. Soon, Google Offers is due to launch in Boston, Austin, Denver, Seattle, and Washington.
Probably, Dealmap will be the factor that will help the service of the “corporation of good” to start working in new regions and get a couple of million new users. It’s a pity the purchase price was not announced, it would be interesting to know how much Google paid for Dealmap.
