Windows 7 and Vista support RAW files from 120+ cameras

According to recent statistics, approximately 25% of all photos in the world on SLR digital cameras are saved in RAW format, that is, in uncompressed form with the possibility of advanced reversible editing. This is the most convenient format that all professionals and many advanced photographers use. The good news for them will be that now RAW support from more than 120 camera models is implemented in the Windows Live Photo Gallery 2011 photo editor for Windows 7 and Windows Vista. Users of these operating systems need to download and install the Microsoft Camera Codec Pack , after which they can view RAW photos in both Photo Gallery and Windows Explorer.

In addition to viewing, Photo Gallery can also edit photos. At the same time, the RAW-original remains untouched, and the editor works with a copy of the photo in JPEG or JPEG-XR (HD Photo) format.

The above package adds the ability to view and edit in Windows and other formats, including PNG and TIFF.
