HP thinks about promoting webOS

Hewlett Packard, swallowed Palm Inc. in 2010 - the developer of the mobile operating system WebOS - amid the success of Android and iOS, I thought about the possibility of distributing WebOS on devices of other vendors.

HP CEO Leo Apotheker, during an interview in China yesterday, answered questions, including the question of the possibility of using WebOS by other manufacturers of smartphones and tablet computers.

We are discussing this with many companies, and I can tell you [ journalists ] that a large number of companies have shown interest in this. We are continuing negotiations.

A little later, unnamed sources at HP noticed that Samsung Electronics, which is interested in versioning systems on their devices, could become their partner. True, while Epoteker also did not confirm this possibility, pointing only to negotiations with the Korean vendor.

Thus, it is likely that in the near future the world market will receive another strong competitor in the market of electronic devices.
