Apple is preparing a new cloud-based music service in addition to iTunes, but it is not yet known what it will be called. Some resources suggest that it will be "iCloud." The version is based on the rumor about the company's purchase of the iCloud.com domain.

Founder of the GigaOm resource Om Malik reports that he received information from an anonymous source stating that Apple acquired iCloud.com from the Swedish company Xcerion for $ 4.5 million.

Whois still indicates Xcerion as the owner of iCloud.com, as most likely the data has not yet been updated. Malik reports that Xcerion broke up with iCloud.com because they rebranded their service on CloudMe.

Whois really shows that CloudMe.com is currently owned by Xcerion.

So far, the web browser when dialing iCloud.com still redirects you to CloudMe, an online data exchange service.

Apple creates a cloud-based music storage service in real life , but Amazon is already on its heels, releasing music stores and streaming services for web browsers and Android devices.

Apple may not have time to get involved in the game in time, but, given the large user base of iTunes, iPod, iPhone and iPad, Apple's cloud-based music service can quickly outshine its competitors.

This is still a rumor, but "If the assumption is correct, and Apple has chosen a name for its new service, then soon we will be able to see their new music service," writes PC World. “Perhaps already in June during the annual Worldwide Developers Conference.”
