Let the kids play

Do you have a child? Preschooler. From a year to seven. Or maybe even younger than a year. What is he or she like? And what kind of modern children are they? Advanced, well versed in the latest toys, able to give odds in this matter to many adults. What is their favorite pastime? Mobile phones, computers, consoles. After all, yours, for sure, will not let iPad out of the little hands, if you give it to him. The main thing is that for the sake of entertainment they should not throw themselves at the wall :)

Now let's look from the other side. In psychology, there is such a thing as a "leading type of activity." This is the activity during which the child’s psyche develops at one stage or another of its formation. As it’s not hard to guess, for preschool children it is, of course, a game. A freely developing activity undertaken for the sake of pleasure from the process itself, and not from the result.

How to make sure that our children receive useful information in the process of the game, not for training, but for pleasure (do not forget that this is what, first of all, motivates a small child to play a specific game)?

We found the answer to this question, which surely excites all modern parents, and created a colorful educational application designed for iPhone and iPad especially for kids who are just starting to get acquainted with the alphabet. Bookvario is an electronic interactive alphabet.

Where does the miracle come from?

The son of the project manager, Sergei Pimenov, Sasha discovered his father’s iPhone and iPad when he was five months old. Sasha’s interest in these beautiful devices did not weaken, so a caring father decided to turn the kid’s acquaintance with the fruits of technological progress into a pleasant and useful pastime. Having bought all the good foreign children's programs in the app, Sergey became convinced of the need for Russian counterparts, as it was obvious that the little son could speak English earlier than in his native language. So the idea of ​​the Russian educational project Bukvario came up.

So what is Bookvario ? For a kid who is just starting to learn the language, this is a colorful and fascinating electronic book with intuitive, unusually simple controls, and the program settings, which the application contains a huge selection of, provide parents with complete control over the process of learning the alphabet.



Plus to all this pleasure - a magnificent implementation of the very acquaintance with the letters. Each letter is beautifully designed and has a corresponding picture of the animal and high-quality sound. Moreover! The card can easily “speak” with my mother’s or father’s voice, if they voice it on their own.



For better memorization, memory check and correct pronunciation of letters, a child can shuffle cards or disable pronunciation of letters and animal names in the settings.

What's next?

We do not stand still! Constantly there are updates in which more and more new ideas are implemented. In the initial version, all animals for the alphabet were painted, now the long-awaited set with high-quality photos of animals for each letter of the alphabet has been added. The next step will be HD video, when on the screen the baby will see, for example, a hippo, click on the screen and the hippo will begin to move.



In addition, we plan to transfer our developments to the Android platform, as well as to continue the further development of not only our alphabet (in the project of the series "Figures", "Cities of Russia", "Animals of Russia", "Mathematics" and several others), but to create new educational games and programs for children 1-7 years old in Russian.

Instead of a total

Today, our team consists of professional children's artists, musicians, developers and designers, plus we are constantly looking for "talents" who can bring new ideas to our versatile project. We do our best to hear only positive feedback from our users and bring joy to them and their babies.



It is worth noting that despite the fact that Bookvario "found life" only in November 2010, today we have more than 3,000 downloads.



What is most pleasant, our application is downloaded not only in Russia, although, of course, most of it falls on it - after all, the application is Russian-language and is designed specifically for learning the Russian language. Nevertheless, as statistics show, other countries are also interested in the application.
