A three-dimensional image of the Sun is obtained
STEREO (English Solar TErrestrial RElations Observatory) - NASA's mission to study solar activity. Two identical spacecraft were launched on October 26, 2006. It is assumed that one of them will gradually lag behind the Earth, and the other, on the contrary, will overtake it. This will simultaneously observe the entire surface of the Sun and study the phenomenon of coronal mass ejections. Also, this arrangement can significantly increase the accuracy of forecasts of solar activity.
