Android game console emulators

It is no secret that Android as a platform is rapidly gaining popularity, and although it is already possible to play many interesting and beautiful games, it’s still far from iOS. However, it is also not a secret that on the old game consoles there are a lot of high-quality projects worthy of our attention, and more importantly, you can play emulators without any problems. I tried to make a list of the most popular game emulators on the Android platform. A list of standing games for emulators is also attached.
Nesoid 2.3.2 - Nintendo Entertainment System / Dendy emulator

High-quality emulator, has everything you need in yourself.
- Good compatibility and game speed setting for the device
- Save Support
- Multitouch support
- Configure virtual keyboard settings
- Ability to assign actions to physical phone buttons
- The ability to play on the network (not personally tested)
- Support for bluetooth gamepads
You can buy the full version in the Android Market:

For those who do not want to pay, there is also a Lite version without the ability to download game saves:

As for games, everything is fine here. NES does not need a description - a huge library of smart projects - the founders of the genres. A complete collection of classics. Of the most famous, and what I advise you to play:
- Battle city
- Super mario bros
- Battletoads & double dragon
- Chip 'n Dale Rescue Rangers 1-2
- Duck tales 1-2
- Lode runner
- Ice climber
- Darkwing duck
Gensoid 2.4.3 - Sega Mega Drive / Sega Genesis emulator

Also a high-quality Sega Mega Drive emulator from Nesoid. Less stable, but nevertheless has almost the same functionality, and good compatibility.
- Good compatibility and game speed setting for the device
- Save Support
- Multitouch support
- Configure virtual keyboard settings
- Ability to assign actions to physical phone buttons
- The ability to play on the network (not personally tested)
- Support for bluetooth gamepads
You can buy the full version in the Android Market:

For those who do not want to pay, there is also a Lite version without the ability to download game saves: The

library of games is no less good. The 16-bit console in its time showed an impressive level of graphics, and many projects also became classic. My personal list of what you can (and should) play:
- Earthworm Jim 1-2
- Rock n 'roll racing
- Contra - Hard Corps
- Dune - The Battle for Arrakis
- Sonic The Hedgehog 1-2 et al.
- Comix zone
- Ultimate Mortal Kombat 3
- The lost Vikings
- Theme park
- Ecco the dolphin
SNesoid 2.2.3 - Super Nintendo Entertainment System emulator

In general, a stable and pleasant emulator of the once popular console. The main desired set of functions is:
- Good compatibility and speed
- Save Support
- Multitouch support
- Configure virtual keyboard settings
- Ability to assign actions to physical phone buttons
- The ability to play on the network (not personally tested)
You can buy the full version in the Android Market:

For those who do not want to pay, there is also a Lite version without the ability to download game saves:

Games on the console are also curious. The console did not have a bad technical base, and therefore the multi-platform often looks prettier on SNES. For me personally, this emulator is valuable primarily because it has Final Fantasy 6 with a good emulation speed, and which is also nice - you can find a Russian version on the network. I can’t make a full-fledged top from myself since I didn’t have a console, but nevertheless you can get the best games here .
GameBoid 2.3 - GameBoy Advance emulator

Perhaps the best GameBoy Advance emulator on Android. It doesn’t work perfectly, but most of the Roms on more or less fast devices work fine. The developer of the emulator is still the same as the author of the emulators above, and therefore the functionality is also similar.
- The best compatibility of games on Android at the moment according to the assurances of the developer.
- Save Support
- Multitouch support
- Configure virtual keyboard settings
- Ability to assign actions to physical phone buttons
Important: for the emulator to work, you need an original bios GBA that you have to find yourself.
You can buy the full version in the Android Market:

For those who do not want to pay, there is also a Lite version without the ability to download game saves:

GameBoy Advance is a 32-bit portable console from Nintendo. First of all, it is interesting because there are 3D - pseudo 3D projects, as well as the presence of games for at least somewhat less modern game series. Unfortunately, I can’t provide a personal list of games. I didn’t find this console, but nevertheless, the top of popular games with direct download links can be found here .
Psx4droid v2 1.0.9 - Sony PlayStation one emulator

And finally, perhaps the most interesting collection emulator. And alas - this time not everything is so smooth. Compatibility is not so high - the emulator runs more than half of the games, but nonetheless - there are not enough compatible ones. What is also important - the emulation speed is not high even on top-end devices. The reason for this is the lack of support for graphics accelerators during emulation. Nevertheless, the emulator has been actively developing recently, although not as fast as we would like (for example, the latest version added support for Samsung Galaxy Spica). Support for OpenGL ES is still promised, but alas, it is not clear what the developer understands by this. Nevertheless, the current functionality:
- Support for top-end smartphones (600MHz + processor frequency recommended)
- Save Support
- Multitouch support
- Configure virtual keyboard settings
- Ability to assign actions to physical phone buttons
- Support for automatic frame skipping
- Support for popular rum formats (BIN / ISO / IMG / PBP / Z / ZNX / Eboot)
Important: for the emulator to work, you need an original bios PSOne that you have to find yourself.
You can buy the full version in the Android Market:

For those who do not want to pay, there is also a Lite version without the ability to download game saves:

It should be noted that the Lite version is somewhat older than the full one, and therefore it still lacks a small number of functionality and compatibility, but part of it is not strange some games are faster.
As for the games, the PSOne library is magical. Here are just part of what I advise you to play:
- Final Fantasy 6-9 et al.
- Crash Bandicoot 1-3, etc.
- Grand turismo 1-2
- Xenogears
- Metal gear solid
- Dino Crisis 1-2
- Resident Evil 1-3
- Diablo
- Parasite Eve 1-2
- Twisted metal 4
You can take images of games here . Also on w3bsit3-dns.com there is a curious topic - a collection of the best games for the emulator.
Conclusion
That's probably all. I did not try to list all the emulators available on Android, but paid attention only to those that seem more interesting to me. At the time of the New Year holidays it is extremely pleasant to return a little to the past and play something that you love deep down in your soul, but you can’t find the time and reason. Mobile gaming may turn out to be just that pleasant occasion. Thanks for attention.
UPD: Many thanks to Rabik for the invite.
UPD2: DimaBat recalls the existence of a slot machine emulator.
APK of various emulators (including those not presented in the post) can be taken here , thanks UksusoFF .
