I just want to say with an advertising slogan like: “ search for travel companions is podorozhniki.com ”. But for such a review of our startup, I would probably get a post ban. I will not risk it and will tell you everything in order, trying not to take too much time from you.
We launched our startup, which was fed for almost half a year by our nerves, sleepless nights, knowledge and, of course, inspiration and thoughts about a beautiful and bright future. A post about the project was already on lifehacker.ru . I offer you an extended review.
Podorozhniki.com is a global and convenient carpool (carsharing) service that allows you to rationally and wisely use transport, uniting drivers and passengers who are on their way. The service is perfect for trips around the city, and for trips between cities, countries. It works everywhere where there is Google Maps coverage (in the future there will be Yandex maps).

The tasks of the service are simple and understandable:
1. reduce the load on the transport systems of cities - fight against traffic jams,
2. help reduce CO2 emissions into the atmosphere,
3. reduce fuel costs for drivers (fuel costs can be partially or fully covered by fellow passengers),
4 allow passengers to transfer from crowded public transport to a comfortable car at almost the same cost.
In general, we hope that podorozhniki.com will sooner or later help each of you make your life a little easier and more enjoyable. Drivers traveling the same routes daily can also alternate, acting as the driver in turn.
In the cities of China, by the way, carpool is already one of the main ways to combat traffic. In the USA, separate lanes for drivers with companions are allocated. In Europe, a car-sharing boom is also starting, which was stimulated, including by the famous Eyyafyatlayokudlya. Then, up to 17,000 users per day were registered on the Italian car sharing service!
But in truth, very many will agree with the fact that in most cases it is simply not wise to drive over a hundred horsepower for one person over and over again. And, in general, in the world this is already a trend - to use everything rationally and wisely, including transport.

In general, everything is simple and convenient: registered, created their own routes and clicked search. If there are no travel companions at once, then as soon as they appear, the system will notify you by email, and the fellow travelers themselves will be sent to you in the “On Our Way” section. You can immediately contact and arrange joint trips. Creating routes is extremely simple. All that a user needs is by going to the "Create + Find" section: 1. Indicate who you are - a driver or passenger 2. Indicate the beginning and end of the route or mark it on the map

Indicate route details (days of the week, time, comments) Next, the system will analyze the route and display a list of the most suitable travel companions, or, as I already mentioned, notify by email as soon as they appear. The feature of the service is that everything works on the basis of the Google Maps API (in the near future it will be possible to choose between Google and Yandex maps), and the routes are analyzed precisely by the coordinates of the curves. We (by the way, graduates of the fur math) really tried to ensure that the search was really intelligent and effective. And, apparently, we succeeded. Our algorithms and curve analysis formulas do their job exactly as expected from them. Thank you, fur mat))!



In general, the search for a fellow traveler is always accurate and correct. And it doesn’t matter how the user names the beginning and end of their route. The system will always unerringly find a fellow traveler, even if he is traveling from a neighboring block or street (or even a city for long trips), and his route is only partially similar to yours, but you are still on your way. In general, check. The service is quite young, but the routes are not few, especially in Moscow and Kiev. Hundreds of users have already found real travel companions for regular and one-time trips. This makes us very happy, because service already brings real benefits to society.
The only thing worth noting is that for drivers routes in Russia so farnot laid automatically, with the exception of Moscow and the region. But, for this, we realized the possibility of laying routes in the manual mode, and this does not affect the quality of the search for travel companions.

Every day we work on improvement and optimization. There is still a lot of interesting things.
