VLC player ported for iPad

After two weeks of reviewing the application, the free VLC player is still approved by Apple and yesterday appeared in the US App Store as a free iPad application ( link ). This player provides an absolutely simple and convenient interface for viewing files in a variety of formats. Now they can be watched in original quality and do not need to be transcoded into the internal format of the iPad.

According to the first testers , the player works fine in all formats, but at high resolutions in some cases (for example, in MKV format) there may be slowdowns. Apparently, there is a problem with the processing power of the iPad itself. In general, only the Windows Video format is not supported (if someone needs it).

The author of the program saysthat VLC source code for iPad is already uploaded to videolan.org and will be published there soon.
