Gamescom 2010 Impressions

Last week, in Cologne (Germany), from August 18 to 22, the Gamescom 2010 international game exhibition, grand in scope, was held . SmsCoin project employees went to Germany to meet with several partners, and at the same time to see with their own eyes the main exhibition in Europe of interactive games and entertainment.
An incredible number of stands were presented in Cologne. Gamers from all over Germany were buzzing in the four huge pavilions from morning till night, and on weekends their number almost doubled - European neighbors and elves of level 80 arrived in time.

The organizers of the exhibition pleased everyone present - almost all the games that won international recognition in the last decade and 15 years ago were presented there: here you have the antique museum, which demonstrates the technical evolution of interactive games in all its glory, from consoles
to rather cumbersome computers (nostalgic visitors can try their hand by playing Mario and Pac-Man), and the new RPG, an official release which will be held later this year or even in 2011.
the greatest excitement was observed, pa is able, at the stand of the company Blizzard Entertainment, where everyone (though, it would be more correct to say, the most patient of visitors who have stood the hours-long queues) could try their hand at working versions of games such as Diablo III and World of Warcraft: Cataclysm. Representatives of the company worked quite hard, conducting various quizzes and competitions and giving out, or rather scattering prizes into the crowd. I remembered a dance competition in which participants demonstrated several choreographic sketches based on World of Warcraft. In the last days of the exhibition, Blizzard Entertainment staged a show of fights for Starcraft II, in which the best European players participated.

In total, over 200 new games were announced at Gamescom: Heroes of Might & Magic VI, Mafia II, Mass Effect II, Medal of Honor, Dead Space II, The Witcher II, Starcraft II, Diablo III and many others. Unfortunately, there was not only one game - Worms.
The booths of Microsoft, which arrived in Cologne with the European premiere of the Kinect sensor for the XBox 360, which will go on mass sale in November, also enjoyed great success . In Kinect booths, visitors did aerobics, rode on a skateboard, set new sports records ...
In one of the pavilions, we discovered a non-ill workshop in which local “left-handed people” tuned the system units - and this is what they got:

Some visitors demonstrated their affection for the virtual world visually, walking around the exhibition halls in costumes of game characters. By the end of Gamescom, the eyes were full of Mario, mushrooms of atomic coloring, Asassins, goblins, mummies and other RPG heroes.
In general, Gamescom could have been successfully spent all day - and many did just that.
Now it remains only to wait for the releases of games and of course the next Gamescom exhibition.
