A new feature has been added to Gmail's Labs: Apps Search, which allows you to search not only by mail, but also on Google documents and sites.
You can enable it via the Gmail Lab link in the settings . The Search Mail button should change to Search Mail and Docs, and your search results will include not only letters, but also Google documents and sites.
Correction of search queries has also been added, in case you are mistyped.
You may notice that letters in the search results appear as quickly as before, while other results (documents) may appear a little longer. Thus, if you are just looking for letters - this Apps Search will not slow you down.
