The conference LVEE-2010 has ended

    Last weekend, a Linux Vacation / Eastern Europe conference was held near Grodno.

    The conference gathered at the camp site near Grodno, one and a half hundred users and developers of free software from seven participating countries. More than 30 reports were presented on a wide range of topics - from the use of free software in science and business to the means of its development, portable devices with free software, features of free projects and open standards. Social topics were supplemented by a round table on the social role of free software and thematic video views. Also a great revival was caused by the blitz-reports section, which first appeared in the framework of LVEE.

    By decision of the public, the report of Maxim Melnikov “Gentoo Embedded at the platform zoo” was recognized as the best. The author of the winning report was awarded a commemorative badge from the organizing committee and a sponsorship prize from Promwad, which replenished his personal zoo of devices with built-in Linux.
    Abstracts are published as a thematic supplement to the issue of the Belarusian IT Bel magazine, and also with presentations are available on lvee.org - the official website of the conference. It is expected the appearance in the public domain and video appearances, the recording of which was carried out thanks to the conference partner it-job.by.

    The conference was supported by SaM Solutions, Promwad, EPAM Systems and Local Area Networks.

    Information partners were Linux Magazine and IT Business week magazines, as well as portals and companies [Root @ UA] Media, IT Event, usability.by, hh.by, PBXWare.ru. MTS provided the Internet connection to the participants, and ePoint Systems provided the coverage of the conference area with Wi-Fi.
