Microsoft acknowledged the failure of its phone
According to guardian.co.uk, Microsoft abandons plans to launch sales of its Kin phone in Europe in the fall. Instead, the company's efforts will be concentrated on the next smartphone, Windows Phone 7.
Most likely, the reason for this is the failure of Kin in the US market, despite the abundance of advertising on television, radio, the network and print media. One of the reasons for the failure of analysts called the tariff network of the Verizon operator.
Microsoft's abandonment of Kin sales plans in Europe shows that it will be difficult for companies to maintain their current smartphone market share. Now iPhone and Android phones are quickly biting off this share. Nokia remains the leader in the smartphone market, RIM (manufacturer BlackBerry) is in second place.
In my opinion, the expected result: Microsoft just overslept the moment (probably doing Win7). I won’t be surprised if Nokia soon loses its leadership position - there is an impression that an important moment was flapped on their ears.
On the other hand, it is worth remembering that after the failed Windows Vista, the company issued a completely successful Windows 7.
As for Kin, I had my own interest in it - if I am not mistaken, this is the only first-generation NVIDIA Tegra chip phone . However, even this would hardly have prompted me to buy: too specific target audience for this device.
