Overview of the brand new Bolgenos OS

Hello everybody! I am extremely surprised that after a furor made by Bolgenos , not a single review has yet appeared. Well, I will be glad to rectify this matter.

    (Caution: Traffic!)

    Live cd

At first I decided to try out the features of the OS itself. Fortunately, Bolgenos allows you to boot into LiveCD mode, which, incidentally, is not often seen these days. I did not understand a bit why all the text is written in English, because this is a purely Russian OS, even the comments in the code are Russian. But I guess I just don’t understand something, so let’s leave it and move on. I selected the menu item “Starting without install” and the OS started.

It is worth noting that the loading animation displays progress, which is very nice, especially compared to the operating systems of the WINDOWS family. After a very short period of time, the Bolgenos desktop appeared before me.

A pleasant user interface and a lightweight, ergonomic design are immediately evident. Yes, I have been waiting for something like this for a long time. Particularly pleased with the desktop wallpaper, and then tired of the fact that in Windows they need to be changed constantly.

The menus are also very convenient and beautiful:

One of the essential advantages of the operating system is the innovative OgenBrowse browser that comes with it. It has many features that have no analogues in the world.

As you can see in the screenshot, one of these features is thumbnails of frequently visited pages. This technology is so advanced that at the first start it was able to pull out these most frequently visited pages from WINDOWS, on which the virtual machine is running, on which Bolgenos is running.

When clicking on the most frequently visited link, we can see how the browser displays the web page correctly and accurately. I did not understand a little why the preview on the start page does not correspond to the real content, but, apparently, I just have problems connecting to the global Internet.

One cannot but mention the fact that foreign colleagues took part in the development of the browser, albeit a little. Apparently, the lead developer allowed them to do localization, and in tribute to them, the browser interface is mostly in English.

    Installation

After a little more enjoying the great OS, I proceeded to install.

Although the OS is purely Russian, foreign colleagues quickly realized that this development was very promising, and began to actively transfer.

The developer’s time zone selection panel was very successful: simple and clear!

No less thought out is the layout selection dialog.

Orange color fits very well into the gamut, it even breathed something African!

Unfortunately, in a purely Russian OS it is impossible to get a user with a cyrillic login, but there must be at least one drawback in the system! Hopefully this will be fixed by the next version.

The developer inserted a peculiar test of attentiveness: not everyone will notice that from the fifth point the installation goes directly to the seventh.

And then the developer showed a great sense of humor: he wrote "Ubuntu" instead of "Bolgenos". For reference, an operating system called "Ubuntu" really exists, although almost no one has heard of it.

After some minutes, the installation was completed.

The welcome screen once again impresses with its unsurpassed appearance, especially the designer succeeded in an “X” in the background.

    Conclusion

So, we can say with confidence that at the moment Bolgenos has practically no shortcomings. I am going to install this OS as the main one on my computer, which I also wish for you!

PS This is my first topic on Habré, do not kick much!

    But seriously

Denis, if you've read this far, then think about this post. And over the comments on yours too. Especially over this , this and this . And here it is .

You’ve done well, at the age of 16, not many people make their Linux builds, especially among those who study at educational institutions of the lowest grade. But if you continue in this spirit, then nothing good will come of it. Find yourself an adequate adult who will clearly explain everything to you and take off a pair of pink glasses. On habrahabr, by the way, for sure there will be such.
