Ubuntu 10.04 Drive Review

Describing Ubuntu affected almost everything: appearance, convenience, customization, programs, and so on. But one thing was not touched on, what Ubuntu begins with, what users see first, not from the installation, but from the appearance of the disk.

This mini-review should be considered as a joke, no more. This is not a serious article, but j4f.
And so we order the disc via Request an Ubuntu CD :

We receive a Canonical envelope in a month (I have arrived in 25 days):

Open it and see a beautiful, stylish box in purple tones:

    Also, rear view:

It is clear that the result of the Ubuntu redesign went to favor. The face of the system is already appearing, and I want to touch this system. Here's what you can read in Full Circle Magazine: The
new style of Ubuntu 10.04 is based on the idea of light.
Light inspired us: it means warmth, clarity and lightness, which is very much appreciated in programs. A good program should be easy in the sense that it uses resources efficiently, starts quickly and changes easily if necessary. Ubuntu is a rejection of bloated proprietary operating systems [...]. More and more messages are carried by light, and in the future, data processing will also depend on our ability to work with light.

Honestly, I didn’t like the old style of Ubuntu 9.10, there wasn’t any highlight. Beautiful, but something was missing:

Expand the envelope 10.04 and see a brief description of the features (in English):

    The picture is clickable.

Of course I would like to read all this in my native language, it would be more pleasant.

The design of the box itself has changed slightly. Now there is a second bend so that the cover does not crumple:

    We get a stylish disc:

I like the design with the purple game. You can even create demotivators:

That's basically all. The box is open, the disk is in the drive. Canonical goal achieved.

And here's the last thing: I noticed by chance, if you look at the box inside, you will see a clear lynx kote :

In the previous version there was a karmic koala:

Concluding the review, I want to say that the number of free disks with Ubuntu is greatly reduced: only one copy of the OS is sent to one mailing address, system updates will also be sent on disks, but only once, then they will have to be downloaded from the Internet. Canonical will significantly reduce the cost of sending disks by mail, which has increased dramatically due to the increase in the number of Ubuntu users.

    UPD:
Sorry, calm down. I answer: there are bubbles !

    And use them too!
