One of the most popular online games for mobile phones “Varvara”, hosted on the barbars.ru domain , was stopped on March 30, 2010 at 12.24 Moscow time by officers of the Internal Affairs Directorate in Novosibirsk, who, in excess of their official powers and instructions of the inquirer, were disconnected and seized for search all servers owned by Overmobile LLC, an online game developer.
The basis for such radical actions was the order of the inquiry officer of the Directorate of Internal Affairs in Novosibirsk to obtain information of interest for investigating a criminal case against an unidentified person who posted pornographic materials on Glammy.ru, a social dating site for mobile phones.
Despite the fact that the owner of the sites, LLC “Overmobile”, passes as a witness and cooperates in every way with the investigation, providing all available information about the IP addresses and phone model from which materials that violate the laws of the Russian Federation were posted, the investigation decided to arrest and remove all company servers, including all office and personal computers of company employees.
Overmobile LLC is a developer of popular online games for mobile phones with a daily audience of more than 100,000 visitors, a partner of mobile operators in Russia and the CIS countries, as well as major mobile portals.
In our opinion, such investigative measures are not justified and should not lead to a stoppage of sites. Otherwise, such actions by law enforcement agencies impede and threaten any development of legal business in Runet and small business in Russia. We intend to assert our rights and the rights of all our customers.

The paradox of the current state of affairs is that the investigators who left for Moscow decided to inspect the glammy.ru service they are interested in on the spot, directly on the site of the hosting provider. And they removed the server of the game of the Barbarians, which has nothing to do with the Glammy service, for examination in Novosibirsk. At the same time, it is not known when they will give him to us and, apparently, we will have to take him to Moscow. I think it makes no sense to say that a month-long downtime for an online game does not bode well.
At the same time, the interrogating officer admits that the stewards exceeded their authority and they did not have to seize the server, but they could not do anything.
Investigators do not answer calls of lawyers. They answer our calls that we interfere with their work.
And now we have no other job than to call them.

Access to the glammy.ru server has been restored. Thanks to Sky-Media (skyme.ru) for not giving up the server and allowing the employees of the Department of Internal Affairs to copy information on the spot.
The barbars.ru server seized from the Caravan has not yet been returned. Moreover, they promised not to give “before the trial”.
Funny, the “porn server” was returned, and the server with the game, on which you can’t even upload your avatar, is not given back.
It seems unreasonable if you do not take into account the fact that the game of Barbara is the main source of income for the company.
