Nintendo DS-based controller for SLR cameras

    image

There are many controllers for “DSLRs” on the market, but all of them have certain functional limitations. The guys from HDR Labs, together with Steve Chapman, developed the so-called Open Camera Controller - not only a very smart, but also an individually programmable remote control module for the camera based on the Nintendo DS toy. The controller is equipped with a touch screen and a battery withstanding eight hours of continuous operation.

Compatible with Canon, Olympus and Sigma cameras. The “stuffing” includes powerful exposure bracketing, an intervalometer, shutter release for loud sound, and the ability to expand functionality using open-source access applications. Unfortunately, the manufacturer does not intend to put such devices into mass sale, but they still took care of the users and wrote detailed instructions for creating a wired controller based on the old portable WarioWare: Twisted game system. In the process, you will have to tinker with wires and a soldering iron, but in any case, when your camera allows you to play Mario during the break between shooting a fashion show and a Rammstein concert, it's better than nothing.
