Birch + flash drive = ...

    Hello, Khabrovites!
As a man who loves to work with his hands, the idea came to me to gash a new case for a flash drive, for a long time this idea was put aside in a long drawer, until once, by the will of fate, I was thrown into a village for a visit. Of all the benefits of civilization there is only one zombie TV with 5 channels (and even 3 of them broadcast a highly artistic snowball 24 hours a day) and a workshop full of tools based on the most “nimagu”. Such conditions simply did not leave room for laziness, and I, taking the first birch log that came across, did not give a damn about twenty degrees of frost, went to sculpt a new building. The design of the flash drive spun ingenious in the head, and simple as a log in your hand, but the result exceeded my most modest expectations.
I apologize for the terrible photos - I shot on the phone ...

Sawed off a blank by eye, chopped off the excess.

Having decided that it was extremely inconvenient to process such a small object with a plane, I used the grinding wheel.

As a result, I got a neat parallelepiped.

Putting the blank aside, I took my flash drive. It was very unfortunate to break the case ... but I still did it.

Further, my goal was to drill holes for the board. When I saw the result, I had to swear at the expense of my clumsy hands - the drill went to the side and the hole was shifted. But, thank God, I took the size with a margin. Then he did the same with the cap and processed the file.

The cap holds surprisingly tight, you have to make some efforts to open it.

The time has come for the most difficult task - drilling two holes along the board, along the entire length of the case. I will run a cord through them. After some thought, I came to the conclusion that it is better to hold the drill in a vice and push the workpiece onto the drill, but if I drill, holding the drill in my hands, then almost 100% will go to the side and all my work will be in vain.

And now the rough shape of the flash drive is already showing up, I already ran the cord through the holes and pasted the board.

Well, here is the final look of what I did in the workshop. By this time I was completely frozen, I ran home with a file - to finish the body and bask.

Having finished with the form, I covered the whole thing with a dark stain, in the end I got such a flash drive:

I am very pleased with the result, I got a very interesting look. The final dimensions are 27 x 63 x 10 mm.
