SauceKit author arrested

Christopher Kennedy, who is accused of selling malicious software called SauceKit, has been arrested in Las Vegas. This program allows you to quietly introduce unsuspecting users other people's referral cookies. Simply publish a special script on any forum (the script can be implemented in various ways) - and all visitors to the forum will become your referrals on eBay. Accordingly, you will receive your affiliate reward from the eBay Partner Network. Reportedly, some SauceKit owners earn up to $ 10,000 per month using this software (for details, see the arrest warrant , PDF).

It is almost impossible to prove the fact of using SauceKit (therefore, the number of users of the program is unknown), but the American secret services calculated the author of the program itself, who was hiding under the blackhatworld.com forums with the pseudonym Biglevel, but for some reason registered the website through which the program was sold.

Perhaps Christopher was going to position the program as a legal tool for marketing. One way or another, but immediately after his arrest, the site was closed. Christopher Kennedy faces a prison term of up to five years. Hearings begin on May 13 in San Jose.

EBay has unsuccessfully fights fraud in cookies for several years: see the documents. Trialtwo years ago, since then the situation has not improved at all.
