December 32 - maybe
The calendar is forever. It even has the 32nd day of the month (in case of reform). The calendar carrier is a refrigerator (refrigerator is not included) Month names are reduced to three letters. The strength of the magnet is selected so that the chips are held one on top of the other. So it’s more convenient to note that on Tuesday the catalog is for rent. Calendar chip - special chips. Comes with a couple of deadlines, arrival / departure, chips of different colors, 5 “drink day” and one “don't drink day”. Total 63 magnetic badges.
As a concept, it sounds good. Design resources are simply filled with industrial design concepts, beautiful renderings with hyper-realistic shadows and reflections (all on a white background). Good 3D replaces reality.
I did not even imagine how much effort and time two people could spend on implementing such a simple object as this calendar.
Initially, this calendar was developed for one of the Ukrainian TV channels, but since the customer did not believe in its reality, we didn’t honestly leave the idea for ourselves without receiving a penny for the time spent. They took bronze with him at the Kiev Advertising Festival; tried in vain to sell to a Moldovan mobile operator; held several uninteresting negotiations.
In the end, we decided to produce it ourselves and try to sell it as an independent object. Since before that we were engaged only in graphic design - it was a completely new industry for us. (Few designers know how Chinese customs work.) The simplest and most economically feasible way turned out to organize their production.
As a result, I can say that the "development" of the calendar itself was the fastest stage, and a lot of time was spent on technical "details". The idea itself crystallized in just a week, it took another month to bring the idea to mind, about a year to find a way and produce a minimum circulation and final half a year to launch it on sale.
