Six months with CrowdA (debriefing)

In August I already published on Habré a detailed description of the CrowdA service and how to work with it. Now I want to present to you the results of the work of the visited site with this system for six months, statistics will be presented for clarity.
How did it all start? As a site administrator, I have long been thinking about the idea that we need to somehow encourage users who fill the site with content. But how? Allow users to embed their ad code in their newsletter? This option was rejected immediately, because it has a bunch of "pitfalls", you need to control so that you don’t insert any rubbish containing malicious code, advertising resources that contradict the rules of the site, like an adult and a hedgehog with it. In principle, all these problems can be solved, but then additional human resources will be required, in this situation “the game is not worth the candle.” The second option under consideration was this: to give news authors a certain percentage of advertising earnings. Depending on the popularity of these, the implementation and calculation of who should be paid, in principle, is simple and feasible at no additional cost. But at the final stage, the question of payments arises, dozens, hundreds of small payments in different payment systems - this is where the problem arises with human resources and the responsibility of the resource for payments to the authors. I, too, was not ready to take it upon myself. The idea with the encouragement of the authors was postponed to a distant box until the spring of 2009 when the CrowdA service appeared on the network, after a short communication with support (they understand Russian), it was decided to start cooperation with them.
Among the several schemes of work, the following was chosen: the authors of the news are allocated an advertising place inside the news, i.e. when a visitor came to the news site, on the main and sections of the site, the revenue from ad slots goes only to the benefit of the site, and inside the news, part of the ad slots brings income to the author of the news (I hope I explained it clearly).
Starting a site with the CrowdA service does not pose any technical difficulties from a technical point of view, our programmer installed the system in 30 minutes, then an announcement was posted on the site asking news authors to register in the CrowdA system and start receiving some reward for their news. I want to emphasize that no one obliges authors to register, if you want to receive a reward - register, do not want to - post the news as before. Many people registered, and the site began working with a new authors promotion scheme. Below I provide statistics on the number of news on the site, statistics on the growth of the site itself (traffic, number of search traffic, etc.).
After announcing that they were paying for the news, many authors decided to take in quantity, but after a month of work they understood the simple truth that a dozen high-quality and interesting news bring more profit than a hundred ordinary news that do not stand out from the crowd. The graph below shows this clearly. Let me remind you that in February there was no payment for the news, the growth in the number of news in March was connected with the remuneration system.

A large amount of news on the site led to an increase in the number of indexed pages in search engines (today there are more than a million pages in Google’s index), which in turn led to an increase in the attendance of the resource. The following graph displays the growth dynamics of search traffic and the number of unique visitors per month.

I want to say right away that no work is being done on the site in the field of SEO.

For the entire time the site has been working with the CrowdA service, the authors of the news were paid $ 3343 between March and December 2009.

Another plus of the CrowdA system is the presence of one account with the authors. At the moment, several sites and forums of one niche work in their system, the author, posting his news on several sites, receives a reward on one account of the CrowdA service.
The flexibility of the system allows you to configure the reward scheme very loyally, for example, you can give a reward only in one section of the site (forum), or pay a reward not to the authors, but to moderators who work on the site, etc.

In general, this is all I wanted to tell the Khabrovsk citizens about my work experience, to be honest - I am pleased with the results, the reward system allows the resource to constantly grow, which is what I, as a resource administrator, need. If anyone has any questions, I will be happy to answer in the comments to the article.
