Laptop Printer - Early 90s

It was in the early 90s, the USSR was just broken up, and my father had already gone into business. At some point, he purchased a laptop with a 386 processor and a stylus (!), An external drive and an IBM portable matrix printer. And it’s about him that we’ll talk today, because it’s exactly at hand now. After the New Year there will be a topic about the laptop.

    Printer Features:

    • Model - IBM 5183 with Epson 1500 emulation capability, dot matrix

The printer is in full working condition, until recently, I have successfully used it in my studies. The problems were caused only by connecting the device to a laptop where there is no LPT port. I had to use accidentally (!) The print server found in the hostel, at the same time there were no problems in Linux (except with the search for manuals). The battery, of course, dead, holds on for 5-7 minutes. The text prints fine, the graphics - awful. For study will do (except for subjects with graphics like printouts from the Compass).
The post was written for lovers of IT history or just old pieces of iron.
