Last Friday, at a symposium on ARM processors, the Asus daughter of Pegatron showed a 10-inch smartbook ready for production.

Recall that at the end of July Pegatron was already showing a prototype of this particular smartbook. That summer machine was based on the Freescale i.MX515 mobile chip with a 1 GHz ARM Cortex A8 processor. It was stated that the Pegatron smartbook will be able to play video in 720p HD resolution.

Now it has been added to the available information that the mini-laptop is running Ubuntu Linux, it is equipped with a 3G module and a battery that allows working autonomously for at least 8 hours. A Pegatron smartbook will go on sale in February 2010 at an estimated price of $ 200 (subject to a contract with a mobile operator).
