CMS Award 2009 Results
Recently, the news " Drupal was recognized as the 2009 Best Open Source PHP CMS " ran through Habré , but recently the results for all nominations were finally announced and now we can evaluate the results of the competition.
1st place: Wordpress
2nd place divided: MODx and SilverStripe
Last year, the Drupal and Joomla became the finalists of the Overall Best Open Source CMS Award. A separate nomination was organized for them. The alignment of forces remained the same:
1st place: Drupal
2nd place: Joomla
1st place: ImpressCMS
2nd place divided: Pixie and Pligg
1st place: Drupal
2nd place: WordPress
3rd place: Joomla!
1st place: Plone
2nd place: dotCMS
3rd place: mojoPortal
In addition, this year we determined the most significant people in the development of different CMS. And here are the results:
CMS Made Simple - Robert Campbell
Drupal - Dries Buytaert
MODx - Ryan Thrash
mojoPortal - Joe Audette
TYPO3 - Kasper Skaarhoj
TYPOlight - Leo Feyer
XOOPS - Taiwen Jiang
It is strange that in those nominations where it was decided to divide the second place between the two participants, they did not give third place to anyone. Apparently this was done in order to save money, as the money for the prizes was spent decently (Drupal took the most).
A very interesting rivalry turned out with Wordpress, which appeared suddenly and, thanks to a large audience, immediately received a strong advantage. I admit honestly that the MODx community was a little upset by this situation, since we were counting on the first place :-)
Congratulations to all the winners! Good luck next year to all the losers.
Once again, I thank the MODx community (especially the Russian community ) for their active participation and separately congratulate them on their victory!
