Don't want to update Firefox?
Recently, my FF3 has stopped updating. That is, checking the latest version is successful, the update is downloaded, installed and asks for a reboot. But after the reboot, the following message falls out - “The update could not be installed. Please make sure there are no other copies of Firefox running on your computer, and then restart Firefox to try again. ”
Forced unloading firefox.exe, an attempt to start FF immediately after loading Win did not lead to anything. It only helped to download the latest FF distribution and install it on top of the existing one. But today I decided to figure it out.
KAV8 was to blame for everything, which a few months ago firmly settled on my car. I did not delve into the mechanism of its counteraction, but it was enough to disable the protection and the FF update successfully rolled over.
Now I’m sitting and thinking - maybe it’s a beast sitting in my fox that Casper can’t catch normally and is trying to fight in this way? ..
