7. Working with Google Maps.
The native Maps application on Android Os is very convenient, constantly improved by Google, recently added pedestrian mode and other innovations. The interface is convenient, except perhaps the lack of multitouch (for now) differs from the iPhone. Available Locator on the map - allows you to see your relatives or friends (those who will give you permission) on the map. Also for those countries where Street View mode is relevant, the
Sky Map application released by the same Google is also an application from the Wow Factor category. It, based on your current location, shows which stars are now above you. It's nice to sit in the evening in a beautiful place with your beloved, to study the stars above your head.
8. Advanced filtering of phone calls.I personally haven’t had to deal with such a task yet, but nevertheless I found the appropriate program, thanks w3bsit3-dns.com:
The program is called Panda Firewall. Features : Block unwanted calls and sms. Setting up automatic reply sms. Logging.
9. Weather forecast.
Here, the very widgets that are one of the Android chips are very useful. There are many different ones, I will give screenshots of only some of them:
The Hero firmware has a built-in weather forecast, you can choose different cities. Also this option with the clock above is available:

Again, there are many programs available for solving this problem, here is one of them: World Clockr

But I liked the free program ChompSMS ., Which, in addition to the standard functionality, makes many more useful things, like a normal popup when a message arrives with the ability to instantly reply, Iphone-style dialogs, reading messages in voice (like Russian would not read yet) etc ...

There are a lot of additional applications, I will give screenshots of standard applications that were not mentioned before:

A small conclusion: I do not know about you, but I like the phone. I am pleased with him and have absolutely no regrets about his acquisition. Compared to Winmobile, heaven and earth. Compared with an iPhone, something is better implemented (take the same widgets for example), something is (so far) worse. At the moment, from the programs I am missing only normal navigation with maps of Ukraine - those 5 or 6 programs that have already been released unfortunately do not have them.
The main reason for buying this phone for me was close online integration with Google services, namely with Gmail, Google calendar, Gtalk. I received it in full size and in a very convenient implementation.
Also, work with other online services, such as twitter, facebook, and ICQ, is beyond praise. Probably there is still not enough full-fledged Skype, although I think this is also a matter of time - after all, this is already the second version of Andoid OS, but only a few were promised until the end of the year. I really like the open approach to the OS - not like in the iPhone - we are waiting for the Great Jobs to release the implementation of MMS to us, and all the shortcomings and improvements of the OS are discussed in an open forumand many of them are implemented even before the official updates in third-party firmware are released. Friends iPhone, do not take it as an insult, but how much time has passed before the release of firmware 3.0 in which the functions that existed in other phones much earlier were finally implemented? IMHO, the basic functions in Android are implemented almost everything, although you can argue about the "elegance" of their implementation.
