ASUS Eee PC 1004DN - sales of the first netbook with a DVD drive began

    ASUS has stirred up a somewhat stalled development of netbooks as a class, starting in Taiwan selling the Eee PC 1004DN model - the first netbook with a DVD drive in history. The model was announced at the end of March, but reached the shelves only now.

    A DVD drive is the only distinctive feature of the new mini-laptop. Otherwise, its characteristics remained quite ordinary:

    Processor: Intel Atom N280 1.6 GHz;
    Memory: 1 GB;
    Display: 10.2-inch;
    Wireless communications: Bluetooth 2.1 and Wi-Fi 802.11 b / g / n;
    Battery: up to 5.5 hours of battery life.

    The introduction of the drive design is not the best way affected the price. The drive, of course, is beautiful, but in Taiwan the machine sells for about $ 610. Um ... IMHO - a little expensive.
