Sun startup essentials

Finally, after so many months of running in, the Sun Startup Essentials program started in Russia. This is a special program aimed at startups that allows you to buy Sun equipment at substantial discounts, receive technical advice and training, discount MySQL support contracts, etc.

So, for starters, let's determine what a startup for Sun is.
    • You must work in the market for no more than 6 years
    • To have no more than 150 employees
    • Be located in Russia
    • Have supporting evidence of their activities (website, company profile, etc.)

If you satisfy all these conditions, then feel free to go to the program website http://ru.sun.com/startupessentials/ . Click on the banner "Become a member - for free" on the banner, fill out the form and wait a few days for the registration number in the program (this time is needed to verify the data).

Then you turn directly to Sun or one of our partners, indicating your registration number and you will be given a complete price list for equipment and training. Unfortunately I can’t put specific numbers here - it can be considered a public offer blah blah blah, but if something happens, then we are not right, etc. etc…

But nevertheless, I can say this: there are more discounts on all equipment than the dealer receives upon purchase; for light servers, the average discount is 20-25%, for heavy machines up to 50%. On storage'a discounts of about 30%. Approximately the same layouts for software support contracts.

Very soon, hosting on OpenSolaris will be added to all this with discounts and some more goodies.

So if you are looking for something to deploy your AMP or Java application, or if you need support for Java, Solaris or MySQL, then you are welcome to participate.

But that would not be the whole picture if there weren’t something for nothing(Sorry, I love Sheckley and could not resist :). In any organization that has a mature product, the question arose about supporting new technologies or migrating legacy code to new platforms or testing any solution in a non-native environment.

Now there is an opportunity to do all this with our help. And this applies not only to startups, but also to any independent software developers. We, as the ISV Engineering department at Sun Microsystems, are ready to help you organize load testing on our equipment, help integrate with our software or cloud services, help port your software to Solaris, and much more. If you are ready - my contacts in the profile.
